If, in Canvas, you are seeing the error User does not exist: <email address> or User <email address> does not exist or does not belong to this account. Error Code 1001 one of the reasons may be because your account email address is associated with a basic Zoom account.
To log into Zoom to get an MTU Instructor license for Zoom, complete the following steps:
- Click the profile image on the top right
of your basic account and click Sign
Out to sign out of your basic Zoom
account.
- Go to https://telcit.zoom.us and click Sign
in. This may
take you straight to
the MTU login page, in
which case you can add
your MTU staff number MSNumber@mtu.ie (eg. MS0012345@mtu.ie) and password and confirm your identity via MFA. This is the same as when you log onto your email address and other Microsoft products.
- You may be
prompted to log in
with a Zoom form.
Click Sign In with
SSO. Enter
telcit
in the Company Domain field and click Continue. This takes you to the MTU login page. - You may be
asked to confirm your
email address. Click Confirm your email
address.
- When you receive
the confirmation email,
click Switch to the new
account.
- On the next
screen, click I
Acknowledge and
Switch.

Now your
Zoom account will be
associated with the
CIT account. When you
go back to your Canvas
course and reload
Zoom, you'll now be
able to schedule
meetings and view
upcoming and past
meetings.
