New Analytics allows you to view and analyse student performance and engagement within a module. It presents average grades and participation data using interactive charts and tables, helping you monitor trends and identify students who may benefit from additional support.
Note: New Analytics data is view-only and cannot be edited directly.
You can use New Analytics to:
- View average grade analytics as an interactive graph or data table.
- Compare the module average with an individual assignment, module section, or student filter.
- View average weekly online participation analytics.
- Send a message to students based on specific module grade or participation criteria.
- View module grade and participation analytics for an individual student.
- Viewing and downloading reports on missing, late, or excused assignments, class roster, and module activity.
New Analytics is best used as a supporting tool rather than a standalone measure of engagement. Activity data reflects interactions within Canvas only and should be considered alongside assessment submissions, communication, and other contextual information.
Analytics data may take up to 24 hours to update, particularly after assessment deadlines.
